Need a push-to-start key?
No blade in the dash, a button on the console, and a fob that has to be near the car. If that fob is gone or dead, you are not looking for a hardware-store house key. You are looking for a smart key the car will accept.
Proximity keys are not traditional keys
A push-button car may still have an emergency metal insert, but the thing that starts the engine is the programmed fob. Losing it is closer to all-keys-lost on a smart-key system than to copying a door key. If a second fob still works, say you need a spare. If none work, say you have no fob.
Can you program a push-to-start key?
For many domestic and Asian push-button vehicles, yes — after we confirm the year, make and model. Some late-model systems are a no. We would rather decline than invent coverage.
What to send
- Year, make and model
- That it is push-button / keyless start
- Whether any fob still works
- City where the car is sitting

The car is on but I have no fob to leave with a valet.
That is a spare / additional smart key job if one fob still works. If nothing works, treat it as no working key.
