Need a replacement key for your Toyota?

Toyota situations we hear most

• The only Camry or Corolla key is gone
• A spare is needed before a long trip in a RAV4 or Highlander
• A Tacoma key still turns but the truck will not start — often a chip-key conversation, not a locksmith-training page
• A Prius or later Toyota uses a fob you keep in a pocket, not a blade you turn every time
• Keys locked in a Toyota in a lot — that is a lockout if they are visible inside

Keys you may have on a Toyota

Toyota has used several customer-facing key styles over the years. Yours is decided by year and model, not by the word Toyota alone.

• Traditional / transponder key

  A blade you turn. Many still have a chip in the head the car must recognize.

• Remote-head key

  Blade plus lock/unlock buttons on the same head — common on some mid-year Toyotas.

• Fob / smart key

  Pocket fob. Some Toyotas also have a hidden emergency blade.

• Push-to-start

  Dash button. The fob has to be nearby. Losing it is not the same job as copying a door key.

What we need to confirm a Toyota

Year, model, whether any key still starts it, and regular ignition vs push-button if you know. Support depends on the exact year, model and key system. We do not publish Toyota part numbers or chip IDs here because those have to match the specific vehicle.

Spare Toyota key vs none at all

If a Toyota key still works, adding another is usually a spare job. If nothing starts the Camry or truck, that is all keys lost — including a Prius with no fob. Say which it is when you request a price.

Push-button Toyotas

Later Camry, RAV4, Highlander and Prius models are often push-to-start. If you are not sure, say “I push a button” or “I turn a key.” Do not assume every Toyota in the parking lot uses the same fob.

Newer Toyota vehicles

Some newer Toyotas use systems that require different tools or service options. Send the year and model so we can confirm support before dispatch. We do not claim every Toyota through 2026.
